Winemaker Bertus Fourie earned the nickname ‘Starbucks’ for his exceptional skill in producing the coffee-flavoured Barista Pinotage. To achieve the 'Coffee' style, specific grape selection takes place in the initial stages of production. Cultured yeast strains are then selected for fermentation to enhance the desired coffee and chocolate characters.

Tasting notes
Intense on the nose, with a bouquet of coffee, chocolate and cherry, with meaty, savoury hints. The tannins are ripe, perfectly suiting the round and mouth-filling plum and mulberry fruit. Drink on its own or with red meat dishes. Bertus, the winemaker, recommends a blue-cheese-filled brandy snap with chocolate and roasted coffee beans.
